quick overview
Assessment…
Using information gathered during the initial speech pathology consultation session, in combination with case history details and referral information, assessment will involve analysis of the individuals skills and abilities. Assessment will aim to develop a more in-depth knowledge of the referred individual’s strengths and skills needing support.
Assessment provides an important and useful basis on which to guide therapy planning.
After assessment, a comprehensive assessment report (billed separately to the assessment sessions) will be made available on request.
Assessment length…
The length of assessment typically varies according to the reason for referral and skill areas requiring assessment.
Comprehensive assessment will usually require multiple sessions to complete the assessment process.
Assessment attendance…
It is expected that the individual (client/participant) for which referral was made will attend all assessment sessions.
It is recommended that a referred individual of any age be accompanied to sessions by one or more parent / spouse / carer / support worker, etc. Please note any person below the age of 18 years needs to be accompanied by one or more parent and/or guardian for all sessions.
